An’s Story
“...An giong do an Viet Nam, nhung khac khac...” - “...it tastes like Vietnamese food, yet somehow, it’s different!...”, commented my brothers and sisters when they came for the opening of Rice Paper’s expansion in late summer of 2005.
Most of my siblings came from Montreal and Los Angeles, where there is a multitude of Vietnamese and Thai restaurants. For me, their comments express well what I have been working on for so many years - the inspiration and aspirations behind Rice Paper restaurant.
Rice Paper’s menu is a personal one. The dishes are inspired by some of the happy memories of my childhood in Viet Nam.
I love Southeast ASian food for the obvious reason that it’s where I come from. I also relish the contrast that you can taste within many dishes: sweet and sour, soft and crunch, hot and cold.
I would love to share this healthy and unique food with you at Rice Paper sometime soon.
